Andrew Dann - CAD Manager, O'Donnell Griffin Rail

II have been with the Company since March 2010. In my role as CAD Manager I look after the other three people that make up our team. Our primary role is to assist the Signalling Engineers to produce complete sets of design/construction/as-built drawings for the ODG Rail projects. These are mainly signalling schematic/wiring designs, although our diverse backgrounds enables us to provide a full in-house CAD service encompassing civil, structural, mechanical, mapping & electrical drawings. We try to be a "one stop shop" for all of ODG Rail's design requirements.

The amount of large scale of the projects we work on definitely sets a hectic pace for our small team. It’s an exciting prospect to be able to deliver multiple designs set to various, individual customer standards. While the challenges in my role are very rewarding, the best thing about working in the Rail group is the people. It might be a small group, but it is made up of some very clever people who are helpful, generous with their knowledge and extremely dedicated and committed to delivering projects to schedule.
