HEALTH, SAFETY, ENVIRONMENT & COMMUNITY
At Norfolk we are committed to Health and Safety, the Environment and the Community. We are committed to providing a safe workplace for all our employees, contractors, and visitors. Our commitment to the effective implementation of our revised Health and Safety policy will help us achieve a work environment of zero incidents and injuries for all people that work within or visit our workplaces.
Additionally, as part of the Norfolk Values program COSMIC, every Norfolk employee will participate in training focused on our people and Health and Safety.
Norfolk is serious about health and safety for all employees for five key reasons:
1. Morale – our employees deserve to be injury free
2. Social – including health, family and quality of life
3. Legal – both for the company and for the individual
4. Brand Name – a poor safety record damages the image of the company
5. Cost – monetary cost to the community, the business and the individual
In relation to the environment, Norfolk is committed to developing and enhancing its sustainability initiatives to ensure that it conserves the natural resources and protects the environment, in which it operates. Norfolk is currently developing sustainability initiatives, to ensure we deliver on what we say we are going to do. To assist in achieving this, Norfolk has established a cross business sustainability team who are driven to enhance our focus on the environment.
At Norfolk we believe that supporting the community is an integral part of our business. We encourage individual companies to support worthy causes to support the community. Across the business we are involved with community activities such as the Royal Rehabilitation Centre in Sydney.
